Fishing Report, Mid-September
Fall is in the air at Carters Lake. The days are getting shorter, the air is getting cooler, the Braves just clinched a playoff birth, and the Falcons are 3-0! What a great start to our Fall this year! Check out these two monster Spotted Bass from today while out with regular client Allen S.

Fishing Report, September
The bite has changed, the fish are moving and harder to find but when you find em, it can be lights out. Early morning topwater, jerkbaits, and fish head spins have produced. After the morning bite

Fishing Report, August Week 2
Water temp: 81
Lake Level: -7ft low
Clarity: 5ft+
The bite is still consistent. I've had great numbers days throughout the month of August. There are fish roaming from 18ft-50ft, all in between. Drop Shots, Spotsticker Jigheads, Carolina Rigs, Spoons, Football Jigs, have all produced at some point throughout the morning. I've been running all my trips from safe-light till around lunch for most of the Summer. As we approach September look for Crankbaits and Davis Underspins to starting being a major player early morning. The days are already getting shorter and this does a lot for the moving bite over deep points and timber edges. Check out these beautiful Spotted Bass from the past few days

Fishing Report, August week 1
Not much has changed since mid-July. The bite is still consistent and deep, getting deeper. I'm starting to see more fish schooling early morning and late evening, especially if it's windy or cloudy. The drop shot and shakey head bite is still best bet for both numbers and size. I've caught some better quality fish lately on Carolina rigs out in 35-40ft but they have to really be on that for me to throw it enough to feel for the bite. Here's a few pics from the past week.

Fishing Report, middle July
The recent even.ing rains have cooled the surface temps from upper 80's to low 80's. The water has a semi green tint to it in some places, kinda looks a bit like an algae bloom is starting. I've still been catching good numbers of fish, the size has been up and down. Since the water cooled back off a bit the bigger fish have been harder to catch. Fish are deep and moving deeper, they're starting to relate less to the brush and more to open water points and bait fish. Very typical for late Summer/early Fall. I have a feeling our Fall bite, ie; September bite will be here a couple of weeks early this year. Check out these pics from recent trips

Fishing Report July first week
Water Temp: 85-86
Clarity: 4ft
Level: -4ft low
Fishing has remained consistent through this hot weather. Fish continue to be 20-35ft for now with some fish still hovering from 12-18ft especially early mornings. I've actually been seeing more schooling throughout the days than I usually see at Carters. We've caught a good many fish on Strike King Sexy Dawg Jr this week, most are small but on Friday while out on a sonar trip in a clients boat, I had a couple of big Spots rolling all over the Jr and finally hooked one of em around 11am. It's the first fish pictured, pushing 5lbs. See photo gallery for more pics from the week.
