Fishing Report 11-30 thru 12-03
Well the weather is finally cooling off and the lake is back to full pool for the first time since early summer. Although we are still 4-5 degrees (water temps) above our usual December water temps so that has things a bit behind in my opinion.
There is however, a great bite happening. I'm targeting submerged timber fields near the backs of creeks, the best stuff is in 50fow but that is hard to find. I'm fishing timber fields from 50-70ft deep and fish are on top of it and on the shallower edges of it, as well as on points or high spots near the timber edges. It's nothing unusual to have fish 30-50fow this time of year but at Carters it's not usually the best way to catch big weight. This week we have proven it to be a weight producing pattern. Today my partner, Bill and I fished 4 hours to expand on this pattern. We boated 3 Spots over 4lbs and a few other solid fish. All while using our first hour & half for Striper fishing :) Great day/week on a great fishery.
It's almost Float N Fly time so if you want to learn this wonderful pattern please drop me a line. I have a few days open in December and wide open in January!
