Spring is coming!  Water temps are fast approaching 50 as of 03/10/13.  It's almost time for some of the best fishing of the year for all species.  

On Friday returning client, DR Ted Q from Lexington KY came down for another 2 day trip in search of a trophy Spot. What a great day as our best 5 weighed 22.5lbs; Ted boated 2 Spots over 5lbs both weighing 5.3lbs on Friday. Big Congrats to Ted on getting the 5+ he's been looking for, not once but twice! Ted and I decided on Saturday rather than just doing a trip we'd jump in the tourney too since it was just he and I, and we're basically fishing the same hours. We decided to fish down lake and stay with the Jerkbait the entire day, we slowly put 10 fish in the boat that weighed 16.70. Fun day, and we did what we thought would get us the 5+lb bites as it did on Friday. Just didn't happen on Saturday, our smallest fish was 3lbs and our biggest was 3.5lb. No big bites. Spro McStick 110 Jerkbaits and Davis Underspins tipped with Big Bite Cane Thumpers were my go to's most of the week along with a good jig bite from 15-30ft on 3/8oz Spotsticker hand-tie's.

Today I fished with long time clients Ron and Patty for Stripers. We boated 6 Stripers and 12 Spots by 2:30pm. Great day but very cold and windy, these two are troopers let me tell ya LOL> The majority of Stripers are still very deep, ours today were 50-60ft on the bottom around drop offs near bait. Earlier in the week when the weather was warmer we caught some around 20lbs on Jerkbait up shallow with the Spots. Thanks again for the support.
