Fishing for Hybrid Bass is great fun and anyone can do it. Hybrid striped bass are a cross between a striper and a white bass. The hybrid is a cross between a male white bass and a female striper. The Georgia state record hybrid stands at 25 lbs 8 oz and was caught on Lake Chatuge. The DNR has been stocking Carters Lake with hybrid for some time now and they are doing great.
In 2010, one of my clients broke the lake record with a 13.65 brusier. You can read the story here.
Much like striper, the best months to fish for hybrids are April, May, early-June, and November-January. I can catch them most of the year, and when they are on top, you really don't want to miss out! The topwater hybrid action is awesome on Carter's.
