Fishing Report end of June

Lake level: few feet low
Water temp: 84
Clarity: 5ft+ viz

Been a while since last report. Fishing has been good. I've been out every day since returning from vacation on Tuesday and the worst day I've had is 20 fish.

Lots of fish are now deep 25-45ft both on the main lake and in the creeks. Lots of suspended fish near timber that will eat a drop shot if fished slow and you keep it in front of em. Also the Spotsticker bite has been good fished from 20-45ft. Yesterday while out with RKreder of GON and his friend Danny, we boated a ton of fish and I had 15lb limit on the 1/8oz Premium Spotsticker rigged with either Crushed Herring or Big Bite Shakin Squirrel in Bold Gill Chart. These fish were caught in the middle of the day fishing behind Danny and Bobby who were catching their fair share to say the least, so the Spotsticker is producing quality fish.

ALSO, I FORGOT TO ADD ON THE ORIGINAL REPORT. I've had a couple calls and emails regarding all the dead shad floating around lately. I've saw thousands across the lake for a week or so, and in my opinion it's nothing to be concerned with. I'm sure it's just some late spawners that were affected by the warm water temps. I know the die off started in the river, and I'm sure most of what we're seeing in the lake have drifted from the river. In my guess, a large number of Gizzards spawned up near the shoals in cooler water and on their return down river hit the mid 80's water temps and couldn't handle it after the spawn had already taxed em so much. I'm sure Jim could comment and give his opinion on what's happened, but this is my opinion. Again, all I've seen dead are mature Gizzards, gotta be a spawn issue. Nothing to worry about.

Here's a few pics from the last week. Long range forecast looks awesome No rain and 95+ bring it! Good luck on the water! I have days open in July, please give me a call and bring your kids to enjoy a great day on the water!  Check out the photo galleries for all the lastest magnum Spots!!!
